A good night's sleep good defence against colds
Researchers in Pittsburg have concluded that getting a good night's sleep is a big step towards staying healthy.
It has been understood that sleep and physical performance have been closely linked, and this research makes a strong link between sleep and health.
The study volunteers were three times as likely to develop cold symptoms if they slept for seven or less hours a night than if they slept for eight or more.
People who had a hard time falling asleep, or who woke up in the middle of the night, were up to five times as likely to display cold symptoms as those who fell asleep immediately. This indicates that being anxious or stressed, which can often manifest at bedtime is also reflected in body stress.

The power of a good night's sleep
In this short talk, Arianna Huffington shares a small idea that can awaken much bigger ones: the power of a good night's sleep. Instead of bragging about our sleep deficits, she urges us to shut our eyes and see the big picture: We can sleep our way to increased productivity and happiness -- and smarter decision-making.
