Love spray - coming to a bar near you

In another twist in what is becoming 'the incredible shrinking romance of sexual attraction' scientists are developing drugs that boost the feeling of love.

Studying the brain chemistry responsible for the complex array of feelings that draw us to another person and keep us monogamous, scientists are treating love, or its absence, in the same way as they currently treat depression, anxiety, phobias or post traumatic stress disorders.

Animal testing is of course leading the way, but it has also been demonstrated that a nasal squirt of oxytoxin enhances trust and allows people to have more empathy with another.

Websites are already marketing products that are a mix of oxytoxin and synthesised chemicals called pheromones which are desinged to boost relationships and dating.

So it may be possible that you may meet Attila the Hun in a bar one night and after one spray you fall in love ...
