Nicqui Yazdi
Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Nicqui Yazdi is the Director of the MindRight Institute, a Byron Bay based training organisation specialising in mental health and well-being courses. Nicqui is an accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor and teaches both the Adult and Youth versions. She is also able to facilitate the MHFA E-learning program.
"I
discovered the Mental Health First Aid course 6 months after my closest
girlfriend suicided. Her death had left me with many questions
unanswered, the biggest of which was why hadn't I seen it and what
might I have been able to do if I had known where she was at."
"I found
that the two days I spent doing this course so profoundly changed the
way in which I was able to recognise the problems of those around me,
that I realised that everyone needed this training. I applied to train
as an instructor and I have now been teaching Mental Health First Aid
for two years."
